Walter (Dad) Stratford
Walter Stratford is the father of Bianca and Kat Stratford. Walter is a single man, whose wife has left him. He has been left to look after his two daughters. He is really strict, and extremely protective of his daughters.
He is the one who bought the two sisters together, and the whole situation of the movie, by plotting that they had to both date in order for one of them to date. He caused the whole situation of the film by doing this.
His character doesn’t seem to want to be alone, as his wife left him and he doesn’t want his daughters to leave him and grow up. He is very attached to them, and over-protective as well. He somewhat “babies” them, and he doesn’t have a very strong relationship with them as he hasn’t accepted, or come to terms with the fact that they are growing up.
Walter Stratford’s character changes over the course of the film, as he starts to acknowledge the fact that his daughters are growing up and they need some more freedom. This builds a stronger relationship between him and his daughters at the end of the film.
