Ms. Perky
Ms. Perky has been represented as a guidance counsellor who doesn’t really care about the pupil’s problems and she is just interested in writing her book. Ms. Perky’s role in the film is to introduce some of the characters as “bad” pupils, as they are sent to come and see her. She also adds a hint of comedy to the beginning of the film.
She introduces to us that Patrick is a rebellious pupil, as he comes to see her, and she mentions that he comes to see her on a weekly basis now.
She also introduces Cameron to the school, and she gives him the impression that the teachers don't really care about the students.
Ms. Perky doesn’t really change over the course of the film as we don’t really see her again after the opening scenes.
